TAMER YOUNG - PERSONAL TRAINER

Fit on 6th is individually owned and operated by Tamer Young. She has been in the fitness industry for 12 years and has an extensive background in building fitness programs from the novice to the advanced fitness enthusiast.

 

Having been an athlete her whole life, she offers a variety of exercises that keep her clients motivated. If you are trying to lose weight, train for a marathon, tone up, build core strength or build up your overall fitness level, SHE CAN HELP!!

 

Many of her current clients have been with her for years. They love the new studio. It’s private. It’s personal. It’s professional. Its 1000 square feet, so you don’t have to worry about getting on the equipment. The space is yours when training.

Sheila Wynne Fung - Ba Hons, PTS, CTM

Sheila Wynne FungSheila is new to the province and absolutely loving it! A karate black belt and graduate of McMaster University, Sheila specializes in body transformation and post-rehab conditioning—often in combination. With over 15 years of martial arts experience and five years training with some of Ontario’s top trainers she uses a blended style of training based on progressive programs that keep her clients from ever hitting a plateau.

 

Former trainees include professional athletes from the CFL, Olympic level competitors… and even a man who skied to the North Pole. She has been lucky enough to work alongside a number of CFL veterans, professional fighters, and parkours enthusiasts; learning as much as is possible from the people around her and adding as many tools to her own arsenal as exist in the fitness world. Her focus in fitness is to inform; fitness mythology is both misleading and damaging in the long run. She strongly believes in teaching her clients the truth about sustainable, healthy change.

 

Kirk Jaques -Cardio Kick Boxing

Kirk Jaques has been involved in the martial arts for the past 40 years, first as a student and then as a teacher.With a background in a variety of martial arts styles, weapons and kickboxing, it was a natural transition to working in the film industry.

 

He has taught martial arts / fight scenes and been a personal trainer for a number of people in the film industry, including John Candy (Who is Harry Crumb?); Snoop Dog (Bones); Scarlett Johansson (The Perfect Score);  Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Head over Heels); Owen Wilson and Famke Jansen (I Spy); Tom Welling and Allison Mack (Smallville); Kevin Sorbo, Lisa Ryder, and Lexa Doig (Andromeda); Jayne Heitmeyer (Earth Final Conflict); Robert Pattinson (Twilight); Alan Tudyk (I, Robot); Jeremy Irons (Eragon); and Neil Jackson and Jill Wagner (Blade).

Currently he spends much of his time and energy in training actors and stunt performers, stunt coordinating, and teaching at Fit on Sixth, where he co-runs a kickboxing boot camp with owner and instructor Tamer Young.
