About Fit On 6th

Fit on sixth is a large unique personal training and group fitness studio located in the heart of downtown New Westminster.

With 1000 square feet of space for one on one training and couples training, with heavy bags and another training room below, we have plenty of space to work with without waiting for equipment. We have 4 certified trainers within our fit family and are very supportive of one another. Truly an enjoyable workout space.



Tamer Young

Fit on 6th is individually owned and operated by Tamer Young for the last 8 years. She has been in the fitness industry for 19 years, is certified and has an extensive background in building fitness programs from the novice to the advanced fitness enthusiast.


Having been an athlete her whole life, she offers a variety of exercises that keep her clients motivated. If you are trying to lose weight, train for a marathon, tone up, build core strength or build up your overall fitness level, she is the trainer for you. 


Health and wellness in my opinion, is about balance through nutrition and exercise. We all falter and that is OK. Every morning we wake up and try to be a better version of ourselves and if we sway, we simply try again the next day.

Kirk Jacques

Kirk Jaques has been involved in the martial arts for the past 40 years, first as a student and then as a teacher.With a background in a variety of martial arts styles, weapons and kickboxing, it was a natural transition to working in the film industry.


He has taught martial arts / fight scenes and been a personal trainer for a number of people in the film industry, including John Candy (Who is Harry Crumb?); Snoop Dog (Bones); Scarlett Johansson (The Perfect Score);  Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Head over Heels); Owen Wilson and Famke Jansen (I Spy); Tom Welling and Allison Mack (Smallville); Kevin Sorbo, Lisa Ryder, and Lexa Doig (Andromeda); Jayne Heitmeyer (Earth Final Conflict); Robert Pattinson (Twilight); Alan Tudyk (I, Robot); Jeremy Irons (Eragon); and Neil Jackson and Jill Wagner (Blade).

Currently he spends much of his time and energy in training actors and stunt performers, stunt coordinating, and teaching at Fit on Sixth.

Scott Harris

My journey to this path began with my Moms battle with cancer.  For the better part of a year I witnessed her fight through the highs and lows of her illness.

The inner strength I developed from accepting the loss of my Mom, motivated me to make changes in my own life.

I remember my own humble beginnings in fitness; navigating my way through weightlifting was overwhelming. I felt like a fish out of water.

The outer strength I developed in the gym inspired me to help others lead a healthier, positive life.

I have been in the health and wellness industry for 10 years. I have trained clients of all fitness levels for the past eight.

My Mom's courage to fight keeps me fighting for my clients and continues to inspire me to be the best trainer I can.

I provide the tools and techniques to help you safely get to where you need to go. Novice or athlete I can help you get the most out of your workouts.

Together with dedication, sweat and a little humor, we can release your inner warrior.

Helping others live a healthy lifestyle is my passion because it saved my life. Like many women, my weight became an obsession that caused me to become quite sick.
